Commercial Lawyer – Tech, Web3, Financial Services specialist

An experienced lawyer and tech, Web3 and financial services specialist. Our legal consultant has a wealth of experience in complex commercial contracts and held roles as Head of Legal / GC for fintech and SAAS providers Credas, Indigo Group and MicroEnsure.

He has advised several clients on rights management, sponsorship, media and advertising. He has also undertaken a great deal of IT procurement, including large outsourcings in-house and at Blake Morgan and Acuity across a variety of sectors including retail, financial services, and telecoms, both in respect of vendors and purchasers.

His extensive experience encompasses advising start-ups, incumbents and challengers, scale ups and large multinational vendors in both national and international/global procurement and he is confident providing advice on regulatory and corporate issues including fundraising.

Junior Commercial Lawyer – IP and Corporate; Banking

Our legal consultant completed his training contract with a city firm working in IP, corporate (digital technology) and banking.

His experience includes working with Lloyds Banking Group on a financial regulations project where he was a member of the Document Extraction and Cleansing Team working on the bank’s ring-fencing project.

Most recently he has been working as a legal consultant with a UK-based retail technology business. In this role, he managed the organisation’s trademark portfolio and assisted with new mark filings, reviewed legal submissions and witness statements in support of oppositions, managed the patent and design portfolio and tracked new filings, publications and grants of the business and competitor patents.

He has also led the development of the global product marking policy.

Senior Commercial Lawyer – Generalist

An experienced legal professional with over 10 years cross functional experience in private practice and in-house roles, our legal consultant specialises in the provision of business and commercial legal advice.

He has in-house experience in both UK and US headquartered multinational technology companies operating under US GAAP and IFRS, having dealt with matters including privacy, software licensing, OSS, hardware / semiconductor technology, Big Data, Internet of Things, mobile phones, professional consulting services, and SaaS/Cloud.

His commercial experience includes: Board of directors experience in the US and UK; working with startups, Venture Capital (VC) investors, and private equity on IP due diligence and IP strategy; entrepreneurship; and business unit management team member.

Senior Commercial Lawyer – Generalist

Our legal consultant is an experienced commercial lawyer with 14 years post-qualification experience both in private practice and in house at Vodafone, Alexander Mann Solutions, Cobham, Imtech Traffic & Infra (UK) and Atomic Weapons Establishment.

Her experience includes working in defence, transportation and infrastructure, construction, outsourcing and telecommunications sectors.

She has considerable experience in negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial contracts with clients and suppliers including first and subsequent generation outsourcing, technology, IP and licensing, consultancy, goods and services.

Employment Lawyer

Our consultant is an England & Wales qualified Employment lawyer specialising in international corporate transactions and non-contentious and contentious HR matters.

She trained and practised at a magic circle firm in the Employment & Incentives Department, before joining a US firm as an Associate.

With wide-ranging practice experience, she can confidently advise on a broad range of employment issues including executive appointments and complex senior terminations, settlement agreements, employment policies and procedures, whistleblowing investigations, diversity & inclusion matters, and the employment aspects of both public and private corporate transactions.

Commercial Lawyer – Data Protection and Privacy specialist; Telecoms and Technology

An experienced in-house commercial lawyer and certified data protection and privacy specialist (CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP, CCEP-I, PCER) our legal consultant has experience working within compliance, risk and legal functions cross-border (AMEA, US, Europe).

She has worked primarily in the telecoms and technology sectors and offers a broad range of privacy experience including risk assessment, gap analysis, health checks, policy writing, designing controls, development of training and awareness modules, data protection programme management, project management, digital strategy, broader information security disciplines and technology.

She also has strong senior stakeholder management and external regulator experience.

Senior Employment Lawyer

An experienced employment lawyer, our legal consultant has worked in the telecommunications, technology, financial and start-up industries.

During his period with O2 he had overall responsibility for all employment related legal matters, also taking on responsibility for advising on pan European matters, including the European Works Council (at which he regularly attended on behalf of Telefonica).

He also led and grew the employment legal team and oversaw litigation matters and advised on all areas, including employment tribunals, outsourcing, trade union / labour relations, restructuring, employment contracts and policies, M&A transactions, senior executive reward/ severance negotiations and training & development.

He was one of the first employees to be selected from O2 to move across and join the new digital division at Telefonica, where he was central to the establishment of the Digital companies both within the UK and internationally.

Regulatory and Compliance Lawyer – Data Protection and Privacy specialist

Our legal consultant is an in-house lawyer who has developed specialist experience in dealing with regulatory and compliance matters; advising multinational companies on data protection and privacy and general legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.

She has experience of managing and delivering on projects such as Third Party payment reviews, TOBA reviews, FATCA reviews and other regulatory review. More recently she has worked with several clients, including HSBC, on data privacy, drafting new contracts in line with GDPR, as well as reviewing, negotiating and amending contracts in readiness for GDPR and advising businesses on the impact of GDPR, Brexit, e-Privacy law and Cyber Security law.

Data Protection Lawyer

A data protection specialist our legal consultant is a junior Associate in private practice, based in the Data Regulation Practice that supports clients with data protection and e-Privacy issues.

As well as advising on a long-running data protection compliance project for a global Japanese-headquartered technology conglomerate, she drafts critical Data Protection Impact Assessments, drafts UK GDPR/ EU GDPR Data Transfer Agreements and has developed and designed data maps to depict data flows. She is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional / Europe.
