Can you describe your experience of working through Obelisk?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience working through Obelisk. I have applied all my substantive and practical knowledge from law school in all of the projects I have been working on. The team at Obelisk have been very helpful and informative.

What makes your expertise unique?

I am fortunate that throughout my legal career I have acquired a range of experience within the private and public sector. Therefore, I am able to apply a variety of transferable skills whether it be investigation, due diligence, drafting, advisory or legal research. I have acquired a wealth of experience with magic circle law firms, regulators and law enforcement.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of flexible working as a lawyer?

I am able to work on more than one project at a time and to have time to work on my role as a Trustee of a charity.

What’s the most challenging?

The challenge lies in the uncertainty of the legal market and how this could impact on the number of projects that is available. However, the team at Obelisk have been wonderful in aligning my skillset with suitable clients.

What are your proudest professional and personal achievements so far?

My proudest personal achievement is being called to the Bar of England and Wales.
My proudest personal achievement is receiving the British Empire Medal from Her Majesty the Queen for voluntary services for the London of Borough of Haringey.

How do you find the right work/life balance?

I am very focused on the client objectives which align well with my good time management skills and collaboration with the team I work with. Exercise is important to me so I ensure I exercise often and help others by volunteering outside of my work hours.

What are your words of advice to other legal consultants?

My advice will be to showcase all your acquired transferable skills to the client and make use of the flexibility of any free time you have to do activities that matter most to you.

How do you start and end your day?

I start my day by going to the gym and at the end of the day, I cook a home-made nutritious meal.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I would like to have the power to foresee the future.
