Client Profile: Track24
Track24 Ltd is a global tracking and risk intelligence business, providing clients with advanced technology for ensuring the safety and security of people and assets in complex and high-risk environments. Based in the UK with an international footprint, Track24 operates at pace and needs its legal support to match.
The Challenge: Fast response to urgent needs
Like many growing businesses, Track24 needed reliable legal support without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire. The work is varied: commercial contracts, privacy and data protection, employment matters, light corporate governance and compliance. What the business does not need is a lawyer who over-engineers every issue or treats a straightforward NDA as an opportunity to draft a treatise.
The priorities were clear. Track24 wanted fast access to different skills ideally provided by someone they could trust. They wanted a lawyer who would triage issues promptly, give clear and commercial advice suited to senior executives and handle negotiations independently when required. They also wanted certainty: knowing that legal support was available month on month, without going through a procurement process every time a new issue arose.
For the business, the cost of the legal solution was equally important. A Managed Plan with Obelisk offered something different: a defined monthly commitment at a fixed price, with a pre-vetted lawyer pool available from day one as and when needed.
The Obelisk Approach
Obelisk matched Track24 with a Managed Plan, providing dedicated legal support on a monthly hours basis starting from a small monthly retainer.
Obelisk engaged on our priorities, generated its own long list of suitable lawyers, shared a shortlist and matched us perfectly after 2 rounds of focused interviews
The plan gives Track24 certainty of cost, continuity of relationship and the flexibility to draw on support across whatever legal areas arise each month.
The primary lawyer placed on the account was dual-qualified solicitor admitted in England and Wales and Australia. With a background in complex international financial services, technology and AI, she brought commercially-grounded legal insight designed to enable safe, accelerated growth while protecting the business through sound governance and regulatory compliance. The expertise of the Obelisk lawyer means she is entirely comfortable operating as in a flexible way: pragmatic, available and authoritative, with a clear instinct for which risks matter and which can be managed proportionately.
What Happened
The engagement moved faster than anticipated. Across just a few weeks, the work spanned employment, data protection and commercial law: the kind of varied, unpredictable mix that is entirely normal for any business, and that a traditional law firm relationship would handle at significantly greater cost.
This is exactly the scenario a Managed Plan is built for. Rather than scrambling to find a lawyer at short notice for each new issue, Track24 had a trusted relationship already in place. Our legal consultant knew the business, understood the context and could act immediately. The client did not have to explain who they were or what they did. The support was there.
“Well it’s been something of a more accelerated start than intended. Obelisk has been great: available, responsive, pragmatic and authoritative. Thank you.
Why the Managed Plan Works for Track24
The Track24 engagement demonstrates what small businesses and scaling companies increasingly need from legal support: certainty, continuity and affordability working together.
Certainty means knowing that a lawyer is available when an issue arises, without delay and without a new procurement decision. The monthly retainer structure makes this possible: the relationship is already in place, the lawyer already understands the business, and support can begin immediately.
Continuity matters because legal issues rarely respect boundaries between practice areas. In any given month, a business might need support on a commercial contract, a data subject access request, an employment concern or a supplier dispute. An Obelisk Managed Plan is designed precisely for this kind of varied, on-demand work by giving clients access to the Obelisk network when a specialist is needed.
A Managed Plan brings users “flexibility and expandability–of current service or to draw in particular expertise (employment, corporate, contractual, etc.) as required.
Affordability is not an afterthought. Managed Plans start from a small monthly commitment, making high-quality legal support genuinely accessible to businesses that cannot justify a full-time legal hire but cannot afford to go without.
