Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a proactive and experienced Equity Derivatives Lawyer to join its Prime / Equity Derivatives franchise in a newly created and high-profile role. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of product development and live trading activity, supporting the expansion of a new and innovative product offering within the equity derivatives platform. The role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on legal execution, offering meaningful exposure to front-office stakeholders and senior legal leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on the development and expansion of a new equity derivatives product in close collaboration with trading, structuring, risk, and other internal stakeholders
- Negotiating and executing live equity derivatives transactions within the Prime / Equity Derivatives franchise
- Providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to the business on a day-to-day basis
- Supporting regulatory and legal analysis relevant to equity derivatives products, including proprietary index structures where applicable
Candidate Profile
- A qualified and accomplished equity derivatives lawyer with strong transactional experience
- Proactive, confident, and able to operate independently while working closely with the business
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance legal risk management with business objectives
- Familiarity with the QIS / proprietary index regulatory environment is advantageous but not essential
Reporting Line
- The role reports directly to the Head of Equity Derivatives Legal

Duration: 5–9 months (exact timing to be confirmed in the coming weeks)
Location: Hybrid working – standard arrangement of 5 days in the office per fortnight, with flexibility for the right candidate
